WILL wielded weird Weather🌦️

Weather is another marvelous phenomenon that changes over time. It’s as unpredictable as our lives. Every day, we wonder, “Will it rain?”, “Will it be windy?”, or “Will it be sunny?” Alongside these, we also ask ourselves, “Will it hurt?”, “Will my life be weary?”, “Will I feel sorrow?”

No one has found the answers to these questions easily. However, the ‘Will’ in these questions brings hope for today. Here is Helen’s story.

It was a cool and sunny spring day. Helen was on a trip with her family to Manali. She was thoroughly enjoying the weather during the journey, hoping this beautiful weather and journey would last forever. Her mom was busy distributing the snacks she had packed, not having time to enjoy the views outside the window. Despite this, her mom’s inner weather was also delightful, filled with the joy of her family.

Suddenly, they heard a screech, followed by the shouts of a crowd. The peaceful atmosphere changed in an instant. Curiously, Helen’s family got out of their travel bus and saw a man attempting to commit suicide from a nearby hill. His family members, along with police personnel, were desperately trying to rescue him. Shocked, Helen watched as the weather she had been enjoying vanished. The people on the road were offering help, but the man stood there, silent and depressed. From his family’s cries, they learned that the man had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of cancer. He wanted to spend the last stage of his life to the fullest, which is why they had come there. Unable to accept his fate, he wanted to end his life on his own terms.

Amidst the chaos, a monk passing by went to the top of the hill and brought the man back from the edge without any fear or hesitation. His family expressed their gratitude with tears. The monk didn’t speak much but said, “Time is to train… Man is to learn.”

We all know that one day our journey of life will come to an end. Yet, we often forget this fact and the life we hold in our hands. Though the rescued man didn’t have long to live, neither do any of us. For him, his days are like a debit card, and for us, a credit card. Both cannot be kept unused.

Realizing this, Helen found her answers that day. It is the mindset we have every day that makes our day and our weather.

The life of tomorrow is a question…
Living today is always the best option…
